Swipe letters into words. Fill each page before your lines run out. Gather strange beasts in the margins.
How to scribe
Swipe through touching letters, in any direction, diagonals too. Three letters or more. Tapping letters one by one works as well; tap the last letter again to scribe.
Each word takes a line. Reach the page’s target before your lines run out and the page is illuminated. Long words score far more than short ones.
Begin a word with the last letter of the word before it to join them. Each joined word multiplies: ×1.5, ×2, ×2.5 and on. Tiles that would join are marked with a red corner.
After each illuminated page, adopt one of three marginal beasts. They bend the rules. You can keep five.
Scribe five letters and a gilded leaf falls in. Six brings a rubric, seven an initial.
